Understanding and navigating the formal complaints and reporting process
ADG is committed to maintaining a safe, respectful, and fair environment for all members. If something has happened that you believe may be a breach of the rules, a policy, or acceptable conduct standards, this page will help you understand your options and where to direct a complaint.
If anyone is in immediate danger call 000. If a situation involves a threat of violence, assault, or any emergency requiring police or ambulance, call Triple Zero before anything else. Do not wait for a formal process.
How to make a complaint or report
Use the decision tool below to find the right pathway for your situation. The correct body depends on what happened, not all complaints go to the same place.
All child safeguarding concerns must go to Sport Integrity Australia (SIA) immediately. Do not attempt to handle internally through ADG, a club, or a TD.
SIA manages all complaints under the Safeguarding Children and Young People Policy, including concerns about grooming, abuse, inappropriate relationships, or failures in duty of care at events.

You can also contact ADG’s Safeguarding Officer if you need guidance before submitting, or if the matter requires an immediate response at an event.
Discrimination complaints based on protected characteristics are handled by Sport Integrity Australia (SIA) under the Member Protection Policy

If you are unsure whether your situation qualifies, you can contact AFDA’s National Integrity and Complaint Manager at integrity@afda.com.au before submitting.
These matters are handled by AFDA under the National Integrity Framework. All formal complaints and reports must go directly to AFDA.
Were you the person directly affected? Submit a formal Complaint. You cannot remain anonymous, and the other person will be informed of the allegation.
Were you a witness, or do you wish to remain anonymous? Submit a Report instead. AFDA has more discretion in how it acts on Reports, and you may not receive updates on the outcome.
Not sure which applies? Contact AFDA’s National Integrity and Complaint Manager before submitting: integrity@afda.com.au. They can help you identify the right policy and process.
If AFDA issues a formal sanction, ADG may also initiate a separate membership review under its own Rules of Association. ADG will contact you if this applies.
For lower-level disputes, members are expected to attempt to resolve the matter directly between themselves. Under ADG’s Rules of Association, parties have 14 days to attempt informal resolution before escalating.
If that is not possible – for example where the parties are not known to each other, or where there is a power imbalance – contact ADG directly. ADG can help facilitate or advise on next steps.
Where informal resolution has failed or is not appropriate, ADG can initiate a formal membership review under its Rules of Association (Rules 15–18). This process involves written notice to the member, an opportunity to respond, and a board decision.
Outcomes may include a formal warning, suspension of ADG membership, or revocation of ADG membership. Suspension or revocation means the member cannot participate in ADG-sanctioned events or access membership entitlements.
If you believe the conduct may also breach an integrity policy (see above), consider whether an AFDA complaint is also appropriate. You can pursue both pathways.

National Integrity Framework policies
ADG has adopted the Sports Integrity Australia National Integrity Framework (NIF) through its membership of AFDA. These policies apply to all participants and organisations engaged in disc golf activities in Australia. If you are unsure whether your situation is covered, read the relevant policy before submitting a complaint.
