Aussie Open 2015: The First PDGA Major in the Southern Hemisphere

One of the world’s biggest disc golf tournaments of 2015 will be held in Mundaring, Perth from January 29th to February 1st. Up to 168 disc golfers from the US, Europe and Asia will arrive in Western Australia next year to challenge the world-class Mundaring DiscGolfPark.

PHASE 1 of registration for the Aussie Open has now opened!

Check out www.aussieopen.info for all the info you need to know about accommodation and travelling to Perth.

The following phases of registration will open in the coming weeks, so stay tuned to the official website.

7th Annual Victorian Open

The Geelong and Melbourne Disc Golf Clubs are proud to announce the City of Geelong as host of the 2014 Victorian Disc Golf Open. This 7th annual tournament is one of the top events on the Australian tour and promises to attract some of the best disc golfers from around the country and abroad.

ADG Tour heads to Tasmania in March

logo-graphicThe Australian Disc Golf National Tour arrives at Poimena Reserve in Tasmania on March 14-16 for the Two Heads Open presented by Discology.

This is the tournament’s 7th year and could be the biggest yet. Players from QLD, NSW, VIC, WA, even Finland have already committed. The course has a special place in the hearts of many players on the Tour, with its spectacular scenery, elevation changes and sloping greens.

Two Heads Open always delivers a fun, challenging tournament with good après disc socials.

ADG Tour Winners 2013

Congratulations to all the participants on the 2013 Australian Disc Golf Tour.

2013 was a great year for disc golf with over 200 people competing on the tour, at 21 events.

The EDGE Program: An insiders view part 1

The Australian Disc Golf Championships in Brisbane were held over the weekend of the 15th-17th of November. This created a great opportunity for the Disc Golf community in Brisbane to participate and run a number of clinics with schools and community groups prior to the event.

Jay Reading and Des Reading were in attendance from America, they have made a living from promoting Disc Golf to younger audiences for many years now. Jay is a 4x Putting world champion, and 4x Disc Golf Doubles World Champion, Des is a 3x Women’s World Champion and 3x United States Champion.

This is the first of a 2 part story written by Brisbane’s very own Nate Lee and his experiences of being involved in the Educational Disc Golf Experience, or EDGE as it is otherwise known.

World leading disc golf educators coming to Brisbane

The globally acclaimed Educational Disc Golf Education program is coming to Brisbane!

As part of the 2013 Australian Disc Golf Championshiops to be held in Brisbane, EDGE will be teaching their program to the school kids around Brisbane. They are also going to run a train the trainers workshop to which all disc golfer are invited.

ADG now offering insurance for disc golf leagues

Insurance is a requirement of most councils so any clubs or individuals running leagues are advised to embrace this new initiative from ADG.

Players can also act – tell your league organiser to get insured! It’s just $0.50 per person, per league day.
