Discs on the Green 001

Thank you to all those who came down to cockman park for a great day of disc golf and also to those  people who helped out on the day. And welcome Kirk Severson from Minnesota and also Emil Isakson and Linda Blomster from Sweden.

It was a perfect day for disc golf with temperatures in the 30’s and no breeze at the start even though the Fremantle doctor came in half way through the second 9 it didn’t effect to many though.

Anne-hyzer Dryzdale Classic 001

In early December the Geelong crew held the first Anne-hyzer Dryzdale Classic event at the newly discovered Drysdale Park location just outside of Geelong. This new area offers a significantly different experience to most courses in Australia and provides some interesting challenges. Players played 6 baskets on 18 tees including some very tight technical holes and some great opportunities for big arms to let loose as well…

Armory Rattle 004

In my general excitement after the second round (and stressed about the sure-to-come-downpour), I simply forgot to announce everybody’s results, but here they are.

Exciting to see that a group from the Northern Beaches had found their way to play the course. Not only did they play, they played well and they liked it and are already talking about approaching councils for a course closer to home – that’s the spirit!

Let me first apologise for getting the name of the tournament wrong it was not dirty cup but Dardy cup.
I would also like to thank Will and Heather for there great hospitality and for the new sort after perpetual trophy.
The day started of nice with no breeze and temperature in the mid 20’s the outlook was good. So with half the field coming from Perth that morning it was a pleasant 3hr drive down to Ferguson valley.

Australian Disc Golf Championships 2007 – Results

If there is one thing that was proven at the 2007 Australian Disc Golf Championships is that the Swedish know their disc golf, but the Aussies are never too far behind.  The event that capped off the inaugural year of the Australian Disc Golf Tour was very well attended, leaving little doubt of the growth of disc golf in Australia over the last few years has been larger than what most of us expected.  It was a lot of work for many of us, getting players packages together, inputting scores and making sure overall everyone was having a good time, but needless to say we were very pleased with the turnout and the smoothness of how everything ran.
